Ho Ho Ho

Keaton LOVES her some Santa. Last year was a different story, but this year she has seen him three times now and climbs right up on his lap, tells him her list of goods, and even wants a hug goodbye. She just can't get enough of the big man in red.
Reagan, not so much. She sat in the corner and sucked on her fingers.... Oh well, there's always next year.

PBJ&K

Lately Kiwi comes up with excuses for why she can't go to bed yet; she needs to read another book, she needs to clean her room, she needs her hair done. But the one that really gets to me is when she says she is hungry. How can a mother not feed her child? I mean how do I know if she is just saying it to delay bedtime or if she really and truly is hungry? She is a growing little girl after all. So last night she pulled out the hungry card again - she wanted a sandwich. As we got out the bread, peanut butter and jelly she decided in her two-year-old brain that the only thing better than a PB & J is one with a little ketchup added to the mix. I had to let her do it, who am I to say it wouldn't taste good.

And you know what it actually was kind of good...kind of.

What the...?!?!

Really I am not sure what has happened here, I don't know why I have not posted the most adorable pictures of my daughters in their Halloween costumes. But maybe, just maybe, it could have something to do with this.
Yep, Keaton now knows how to use the computer, and she is a total hog! She would look at Princesses and toys online all day if I let her. So I have done the unthinkable (my pediatrician may lecture me) and turned on the Disney channel to distract her while I download these pics and blog....better make this fast before Hannah Montana is over!

Keaton was a ballerina, which by the way is what she wants to be when she grows up she told me today. And check her sweet moves, I think she just might make it to the NYCB with those.

Here is her "Stop taking pictures of me so I can go get candy" face.

And of course every ballerina needs a pirate.

Reagan was a, ummm, well.....not exactly sure, maybe a flower fairy??? But hey it was darn cute, and that's all that matters!

I think you might be cut off from trick-or-treating when you no longer can lift your basket.

Overall it was a great Halloween filled with lots of excitement, costumes, friends, family and WWWAAAYYY too much candy that is still hidden somewhere in the laundry room.

p.s. Is it bad that while writing this I laughed at least a half dozen times at Hannah Montana???

Falling for Fall

Every year I dread as fall nears; the days get shorter and the sky gets grayer as the lazy summer days disappear. But this year autumn has brought nothing but warmth to our home. We have had the best time making caramel apples and pumpkin cookies, visiting the pumpkin patch, decorating pumpkins and going to Halloween parties!

Here's to a fabulous fall!

Nuni Fairy

I have been waiting to post this for a few days just because I didn't want to jinx anything.....but I think it is safe to say that Kiwi is a nuni free child. See I am all about the pacifier when they are babies, but as soon as that kid begins to talk, I think that thing needs to come out! So with Keaton being all of 2 1/2, it has been bothering me for a while now. We tried once before about 6 months ago to rid of the thing - go cold turkey- but it didn't go over well, she wouldn't sleep without it and ended up getting really sick, and we caved. So this time it was serious, there was no turning back. We went with an approach we had seen on "Super Nanny". We told Kiwi that the Nuni Fairy was coming to get her nunis to give them to all the babies in the world that needed them. We got a pretty basket, she went around and collected them all and then we set it out for the Fairy to come that night. Keaton could not sleep that night, between no nuni and the excitement of the Fairy coming she was up past midnight. She was killing me, I could hear her pulling a chair up to the window and opening the blinds to check for the Fairy! Once she fell asleep I sneaked up and replaced the multitude of nunis with presents galore, it was like Christmas up in here. She woke up bright and early, eager to see the Fairy and her goodies. Surprisingly she has only brought up her nuni a few times since then, she actually is more interested in catching a glimpse of that Fairy! We are going on 4 days nuni free and so far so good!

or her cousin Jack,
she will attack!
Watch out, she'll get you next!

A Little Shopping

Keaton is obsessed with her new boots and glasses.
She thinks she is Hanna Montana, oh boy, can't imagine what she'll be like at 15.

Smith Wedding

Collin and I took our first trip without the girls in over a year,
we went fist pumping on the Jersey Shore.
The girls had an equally good time.

Good News

Two very exciting things happened in our family this week! Of course not of equal importance, but you can decide for yourself. First Keaton is POTTY TRAINED!!! That's right, no more diapers baby. And here is the proof......all 12 new pairs at once.

....and one for her head.

And in other exciting news, my sister got engaged! She is marrying this guy....

Ok, ok, not nice. But really here is the happy couple.

Congrats! Can't wait until 12/20/08!

August Rush

At the beginning of August we were fortunate enough to head down to Newport Beach to visit Ryan and Nicole. We decided it would be fun and easier than flying (WRONG!) to drive the entire 26 hours roundtrip. Well, little did we know, Kiwi gets carsick after about 11 hours, her carseat still reeks of vomit, ucckkkk. Anywho, Ryan and Nicole were celebrating their engagement (finally! we adore Nicole!) and we were so happy to be there for the lovely party that the Pink's threw for them. It was a great party! But on to the REAL important stuff, like table dancing and princesses.

The girls had such a fabulous time just being at Uncle Ryan's house.

There was dancing on coffee tables,

there was dogpiling,

and of course there was the beach.

`

And then came Disneyland.

It started out a bit rough, Pirates of the Carribbean might have been a bad choice, as Kiwi said, "Those pirates ttthhhcaarryyy!".

So then we hit up the huge ferris wheel which didn't go over too well either. Both girls were a bit uncertain about this ride.

But all was well when we got to the Princess Fantasy Faire. As you can imagine Keaton was in HEAVEN! She now was feeling mighty fine in that Belle dress she decided to wear. And look how little she is in all that princess get-up!
And of course every princess needs a little sparkle at the end of the day!

Since our trip, everyday Keaton says she is going to Disneyland....hope you don't mind Ryan and Nicole!
