Summer Lovin' Had Me A Blast

Well it's been a fun-filled and busy summer so far, obviously leaving little time to blog.... so lets just get down to it.

One of the most exciting events to happen this summer was Juice and Robin Lindsey having their baby boy Johnathan Hawthorne Lindsey (goes by Jack) born June 1st. Thanks to them for giving the girls their first cousin, and more props for having a boy, things were getting a tad TOO pink. This little boy rocks, he is almost 3 months old, sleeps through the night and smiling like it's his job, aaaaadorable, nice work guys!

A couple weeks later on the 18th of June Reagan celebrated the big one....

where she proceeded to eat mass amounts of cupcake.....

and then pass out - cupcake still in hand.

hen Uncle Jake came to visit us and was kind enough to help Daddy put together this amazing play structure for the girls (it only took about 25 hours to assemble - gooo!). It's got all the bells and whistles, including a mini-bar with its own green awning, awesome. This has led to endless hours of outdoor entertainment for all, thanks Jewsey!

At the beginning of July Collin's twin brother Ian got married in Portland. Kiwi was so excited to be a flower girl. She wore a cute yellow dress that she referred to as her "Bell" dress, and then refused to take off for the next 8 days....but that's beside the point. She had a great time at the wedding where she was entertained by her big "cousin" Madison whom she just adores. Here they are on the dance floor, they kind of look-a-like don't they?

Reagan also enjoyed herself, where she boogied on down with her "Fun Uncle Ryan".

Of course we couldn't let the summer go by without hitting up the Jackson County Fair. Kiwi surprisingly loved the kiddie rides, loved the fair fried food even more though. She even sat still long enough to have her little face painted. CoCo thought she looked pretty darn cute!

The girls got to spend some time up at the cabin this summer. They really enjoyed the simple pleasure of throwing rocks in the lake....never gets old. Also enjoyed running into the water, with absolutely no regard for drowning....gets VERY old.

Then we topped it all off with a little watermelon.

The rest of July was filled with running in sprinklers, drawing with chalk, and sharing fudgecicles with our new BFF, Blaine. Blaine is my friend Anne's delightful son. Anne and I have been friends for over 25 years, therefore we are determined that our children will be friends too, whether they like it or not.

Been a great summer so far, August coming soon.

(Alright..not so soon knowing me)

Dirty Tink

Last week grandma CoCo purchased a Tinkerbell outfit for Keaton, sounds adorable doesn't it?

That is until you realize we are going on day 6 of wearing it non-stop...

Tinkerbell has been through a lot this last week:

Jumphouses,

Cupcakes,

And outdoor summer fun!

Well it looks like this is as close as we are going to get to the dress being washed!

A Day in the Life of...

The
Lindsey Ladies!

Ok maybe not so much a day... more like three.

Went to "A Taste of Ashland" where Kiwi was much more interested in the wady than anything else.

Reagan did this all by herself. She has figured out a way to pull her shirt over her head so that she can play the belly-bongos.

One of the cutest things I have ever seen; Kiwi "reading" to Reagan.

Kiwi enjoys herself some Guitar Hero, what can I say, she's a rockstar....and better at the game than most adults.

Here is Reagan doing a little walking, just a few steps here and there so far....thank goodness!

Keaton loves the fact that she is now strong enough to open the fridge, and thinks she can help herself to whatever she pleases. At least this day it was broccoli.

And the best part of the week: both girls (and tinerella too) stayed in the shopping cart the entire time in the store...a family record.

Meathead

So it looks like I may have made my once meat loving daughter into a vegetarian....and no not on purpose. Last week when it was 70 degrees out we decided to barbecue. I got a huge steak for Keaton and Collin to share. Kiwi, as usual, stood next to me in the kitchen as I made dinner. The whole time I was cooking she kept asking for meat to eat, she was very excited by the steak idea. As I was tenderizing the meat, it somehow slipped off the plate and landed directly on Kiwi's head! It slid down her face, hit her stomach and landed on her feet. She had cow blood all over her, poor thing just starting crying. She was less than enthusiastic to eat her dinner that night, and ever since then has been a little skittish around steak.

~ and by the way, the picture above is not of the "meat incident", seemed a little inappropriate to take pictures as she screamed while covered in blood.....just thought it was a funny picture.

Baby Blog

So as most of you can tell our mother is not overly good at keeping up with this whole blog thing, so we thought we would take over and show you all what we've been up to....I mean it's been over two whole months, and in baby time that's like four years, we are very grown up! (We know there is suppose to be a dash in there, but Kiwi spilled juice on the laptop and that, along with eleven other important keys, no longer work).

REAGAN EMMA

As for me, I am a whopping nine months old now, hard to believe I know. I drive my mother insane by trying to walk already. I pride myself on how fast I can crawl, but I feel it's time to move on and keep up with my big sister, so I took my first steps last week. And I practice my walking everyday by pulling myself up on anything that will stand still for a moment, including Kiwi.

I have two bottom teeth now, see....

I enjoy my new teeth, but getting them sure does make me cranky! I am getting four new ones right now, which is awesome, makes it much easier to bite loved ones when you have upper and lower teeth....yep, I'm a biter people!!!

My hobbies, besides biting, include playing with blocks, peekaboo, stealing my sister's toys, and searching for food on the floor that I shouldn't eat. I also love to play with daddy, and really enjoy sitting on his shoulders and yanking his hair.

Kiwi loves it when I pull her hair too, she just screams with joy!

Well that's my nine months in a nutshell....a very small, baby nutshell.

Keaton Grace

I am 2 now, and it shows! I can do (and undo) so much, it's amazing! I love to climb, run, jump and twirl in circles till I am too dizzy to stand. I am also quite the talker, my vocabulary grows everyday, and I am even learning to talk in sentences!

Well, I am officially a princess. I got a throne for my second birthday from Aunta, I like to sit in it wearing my Cinderella dress and demand my family to bring me things.

I also received an art kit from Grandma and Buddy for my birthday, and boy am I good painter! Check out one of my pieces of art below, pretty good huh? I am thinking about putting a collection together and having a show sometime soon, time and place to be announced.

My parents recently decided that I was too big for my "nuni" and tried to take it away...but I showed them who was boss, now like to suck on two just to spite them.

I had a fabulous Easter, dyed eggs for the first time and then went on the big hunt for them...all while wearing my beautiful new dress that Grandma bought me. My sister had a matching one too, we were pretty darn cute (check the bunny teeth)!

My future plans for the time being are learning to share a bit better with my sister, potty training and spilling less juice... we'll see how I do!

Better late than never.....I guess

I know, I know, you don't have to tell me, it's pathetic..... it has been way too long since the last post. And I will save you my long list of not-so-good excuses (does Kiwi routinely putting my camera in obscure places count as a bad excuse???) and get right to the recap of all our holiday fun!

We kicked off Christmas-palooza with a delicious Christmas Eve dinner at 4 Daughters Pub (shameless plug!!) followed by opening presents at CoCo's house. We all dressed in our finest as you can see, with Kiwi pairing her lovely Christmas dress with her once pink-now gray Uggs :)

We then headed to Portland where we spent Christmas day at Grandma and Grandpa's, or as Kiwi has taken to calling Doug, "Buddy". We had a great day; opened presents, brunched at Aunties, ate a great dinner at Juice and Robin's new house, and to top it all off, it snowed most of the day too!

After returning home we headed to Newport Beach to spend New Years with "Ry and Cole" (Ryan and Nicole). Surprisingly the girls weren't the biggest issue on the plane ride, that award goes to the eight bags we decided to bring along.....ugggghhh.

Once we got there we had so much fun, especially Kiwi, who was in high heaven with all the "bissesses" (princesses) she got to see. First Ryan and Nicole hooked us up with box seats to Disney's Princesses on Ice. Never in my life have I seen Kiwi sit for so long, she was mesmerized...and also a little disturbed when Snow White face- planted. Then the next day we all went to Disneyland. Despite the looks on their faces, they had a great time. Kiwi enjoyed seeing all of the characters, the Jungle Boat Cruise, and the parade, (but I think those churros ranked number one with her!). And of course Grandma and Buddy had to buy Reagan her first pair of ears while we were there, could she be any cuter!?! Well after a week we reluctantly headed home from our So Cal trip (70 degrees there, 30 degrees Medford) and tried to get back to some sort of normal routine. Even though our little holiday was a whirlwind, it was worth every busy second!

Over the river and through the woods...

...to grandmother's (and grandfather's) house we go! Our whirlwind Thanksgiving began with an early start at grandma CoCo's house for what else, but a pumpkin pie breakfast! We ate our pie, watched football and chased Keaton around. Then we went back home, put on our "pretties" and headed to the Skinner Family portion of our Thanksgiving. At Aunt Marcia's we ate yummy appetizers, drank wine, and chased Keaton around (the golf course this time). We then headed back to grandma CoCo's for the main attraction - dinner! As always the food was delicious and the company was absolutely entertaining, with little Sean telling us his "wishbone wish" was for it to rain a million pounds of bacon (I personally am hoping this one does not come true)! We ate more pie, Kiwi ate a plate of whip cream, chased her around again and then headed home to pack for our trip to Portland.

The next morning we woke up early, well more like Kiwi woke us up early, and drove in one straight shot (4 hours) to Portland, a true Thanksgiving miracle! The weekend was a blast, with Keaton and Reagan getting in lots of much needed Grandma and Grandpa time! The girls also enjoyed being able to spend time with all three of their uncles in the same place at the same time, pretty rare! In between all of the shopping and eating, Ian and Courtney had their engagement party, where the girls enjoyed showing all the guests what they do best; Reagan threw up on everyone (looks like Nicole doesn't mind though) and Kiwi, was well, crazy Kiwi. She ate grapes till she almost popped, threw a cue ball at her second cousin Madi (thanks Uncle Ryan) and serenaded the group with her own rendition of Bach's "Minuet" on the piano. All in all, I think she really enjoyed the fiesta. As always our trip felt way too short, with us not saying our "bu-byes" till the last possible minute...can't wait for Christmas to chase Keaton all around Portland again!
